At The Innamincka Hotel, we love being an outback pub. The sounds of birds as you enjoy a cold beer, the nod from locals coming to grab a bite to eat, the stories of travellers exploring our amazing country. We don't sweat the small stuff, we live by the motto "it's all good".

Being an outback pub does come with its own challenges–like we can't always get deliveries through if the roads are closed, sometimes we're a full house and other times we say goodnight early. So if our menu changes at the last minute, or our doors close a little early one day we hope you'll understand that we're just taking it day by day out here. Maybe you've heard of island time? Well, consider this outback time.

Quality, creative pub fare with flair and an outback focus perfectly sums up the dining experience at the Innamincka Hotel.

Whether you choose to dine in the Front Bar or in the more spacious Outamincka Bar, the Innamincka Hotel delivers pub cuisine at its finest with a range of dishes from a seasonal menu that feature fresh quality ingredients and generous serves.

While our dinner menu is seasonal, sometimes it's impacted by when the hotel receives supplies — especially if the roads are blocked or closed due to rain or flooding. Fortunately, our kitchen staff are renowned for their forward and creative thinking and can adapt the menu so that quality meals are always on offer.

Where possible, fresh food from the Adelaide Markets and produce from local suppliers are the mainstays of all our dishes.

The Front Bar

The Innamincka Hotel can trace its origins to the early days on the banks of the Cooper Creek where it served drinks to cattlemen of the day. The Front Bar epitomises all that an outback pub should be with loads of character and local memorabilia.

Grab a drink and take in some of the outback treasures that adorn the walls and form an important part of the pub's cultural appeal, or park yourself on a bar stool and strike up a conversation with a fellow traveller. You might even be able to coax a story or two out of some of the locals. And if all gets a bit noisy, head outside and have a seat at one of the outdoor settings under a big shady umbrella.

Naturally, the bar is well stocked with a huge range of spirits and many beers on tap. However, it wasn't always that way. When the original hotel was built, it only served bottled beer because infrequent visitors meant the kegs would go off before they could be finished. The surplus of bottles at the back of the hotel reached a point where it was over a metre high and several hundred metres long. It was a visitor attraction unto itself, but ultimately it was washed downstream along with the ruins of the hotel in the massive 1956 flood.

The Outamincka Bar

The stunning Outamincka Bar is fairly recent addition (2008) to the Innamincka Hotel complex. A huge, modern, air-conditioned restaurant, it seats around 100 diners and serves superb creative pub fare and icy cold drinks.

The Outamincka Bar has quickly gained a reputation for the best pub grub for hundreds of kilometres, and travellers to the Cooper Creek know that great meals and the accompanying atmosphere rivals many high profile city hotels.

It's also a great venue for events, meetings, private parties and get-togethers.
