Welcome to Innamincka. Visitors are our valued guests, our biggest supporters and a mix of both our newest and oldest friends. We ask that our visitors are also our partners in protecting Innamincka’s environment and community by engaging in sustainable traveller behaviours.
Join us in doing your part to help our patch of the outback to stay healthy and vibrant for many generations to come by following the Aussie Travel Code. It will help you get the most out of this incredible region, and leave it a little better than you found it.
Come Prepared
Travel safe and well by preparing your vehicle and getting the right information. We are happy to help, so drop by and chat to our friendly staff about the areas you are visiting around Innamincka. We can check the weather & road conditions, let you know if you need a Parks Pass, provide a packing list for the car and share our local knowledge.
Stay on Track
Only drive on roads and permitted 4WD tracks. Going off track can be seriously destructive to our very precious and biodiverse region. It may also be unsafe, and cause damage on privately owned land. We can recommend some incredible tracks for you to explore safely, respectfully, and without damaging the important ecosystems around our precious Channel Country.
Keep it Clean
Be mindful of water and power use at the Hotel and only use what you need. Recycle and re-use as much as you can, and use eco settings on appliances.
When exploring the region, never leave rubbish behind in our parks and waterways. Use public toilets where possible. To dispose of bio-waste, dig a hole, burn the toilet paper, ensure the flame is extinguished and thoroughly bury everything.
Respect the Outback
The Outback is bigger than all of us. She can be awe-inspiring, dangerous, surprising and absolutely bloody spectacular. Travellers who are curious and respectful will be rewarded with all she has to offer.
Seek out local advice, be responsible for your safety, and help anyone who may need it. Be the kind of traveller you would want to meet in your own hometown.
