Seeking New Hotel Manager
We're looking for someone new to take the reins at Innamincka Hotel.
The Innamincka Hotel is all of the good things in life: good food, great company and new adventures. If you’ve come to visit us already, you’ll also know that we’re very remote, tucked away in the top corner of SA. Living in the outback is an experience that will stay with you a long time, and we can’t wait to show you our way of life.Â
Challenging but rewarding
You’ll spend your weeks meeting new faces, getting to know the regulars and keeping the Innamincka Hotel rolling. Living in the outback brings with it a range of challenges but is also very, very rewarding. Mother Nature gives us a beautiful location to work and play - and periodically, a road closure or flood to work around. That’s the fun of it, out here we just go with the flow and see what the day brings us. But we also work hard, and respect each other and the land we’re on.
We look for people who can represent our values. One thing that is extremely important to us is our sustainability and eco-tourism accreditation. These roles will be the driving forces for sustainability at Innamincka Hotel, so you have to be someone who is excited by this and ready to help continue these efforts.Â
Are you our next manager?
Our previous hotel manager of 12 years works in an offsite general manager role and will work closely with the new hotel manager on an ongoing day-to-day basis. We have established policies, partners and systems but there is still plenty of autonomy within the role.Â
We are hoping for a two-year commitment and in return, include a 3bdrm house, car and phone for your use in the role. As you will be working a six-day roster, you will also have time off every 10 to 12 weeks to help you to refresh and recharge, while a generous salary will allow you to save for a future house, travel or investments.
If you think you might be the one to steer the property for the next few years, we’d love to hear from you.
The Role
Our hotel manager is the one who keeps the wheels turning, someone who thrives in a role that is as diverse as it is fun. In the outback we have our own kind of challenges that can pop up, so our manager needs to be someone who can take on whatever comes their way with a smile and determination. Someone who loves a yarn with new people and knows how to keep a level head.Â

Wellbeing Statement
At the Innamincka Hotel, we are more than just a pub.
We consider the hotel to be a pillar within the broader ecosystem of Innamincka, and it is our privilege and pride to support the social, economic and environmental health of our town and region.
The pub is the town's meeting place, a visitor information centre, a weather bureau and a newsroom. An oasis in the desert, a watering hole, and the place to rest a weary head.
Our people are a welcome wagon, a team, and a well-oiled machine, and we love the Outback but we know that living in a remote location can be challenging.
At the Innamincka Hotel we believe that healthy staff are happy staff. At every level of business operation, happy staff will contribute to the quality, stability and integrity of the business.
As employers in a challenging environment, we feel responsible for ensuring our team members are supported in maintaining their own mental, physical, financial and social wellbeing.
